The biggest after-party for the Primetime Emmy Awards on August 29 was hosted by AMC’s winner for Outstanding Drama Series, ‘Mad Men,’ Popeater.com is reporting. Thrown at the Soho House in Los Angeles, even members of HBO’s ‘True Blood’ left their cable network’s own party to hang out with the ‘Mad Men’ cast and crew.
“They won the biggest award of the night and had the biggest party that everyone wanted to get into. However, no one expected to see Alexander Skarsgard from ‘True Blood’ at the AMC party when his own network had a party not far away,” Popeater also reported. The party-hooping comes as HBO’s original programming is losing critical acclaim and popularity, with the vampire show, based on the ‘Sookie Stackhouse’ novels, being the network’s biggest draw as of late. The network even passed on airing ‘Mad Men,’ created and produced by Matthew Weiner, and AMC picked the show up instead.
