Robert Rodriguez is promising that he is working on ‘Sin City 2,’ the follow-up to his hit 2005 original ‘Sin City,’ Cinemablend.com is reporting. After releasing two action movies this summer, including ‘Predator’ and ‘Machete,’ the director promised during a live Facebook chat on October 10 that when he is done making the fourth ‘Spy Kids’ film he will make the ‘Sin City’ sequel.
But there are rumors swirling that Rodriguez and his ‘Spin City’ co-director, Frank Miller, had a falling out after the film was released. But Rodriguez has publicly said that he and Miller are, indeed, working on the sequel. He added that ‘Sin City 2’ is slated to be his next movie, but if the script isn’t ready yet, he’ll move onto another film.
But this new promise comes after Rodriguez made at least half a dozen other promises to release the sequel since the original came out five years ago. Though the actors from the original, including Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba and Clive Owen, have also moved onto other projects.
