J.J. Abrams is taking on another project by agreeing to produce ‘Infinitely Polar Bear,’ Cinemablend.com is reporting. The movie, which is being written and directed by Maya Forbes, follows a man stricken with bi-polar who is trying to keep his life and family together, even after his wife leaves him to start a new career.
Mark Ruffalo is currently in the running to play the lead role. However, he is starting production on ‘The Avengers’ next year, so his fate with ‘Infinitely Polar Bear’ rests on how long he needs to film the comic book adaptation.
‘Infinitely Polar Bear’ will be one of Forbes first entries in the dramatic genre. She’s known more for writing comedies, including ‘Monsters vs. Aliens’ and ‘The Rocker.’ But her partnership with Abrams on ‘Infinitely Polar Bear’ isn’t definite either, as he’s also producing the television shows ‘Fringe’ and ‘Undercovers;’ writing, directing and producing ‘Super 8;’ producing ‘Mission: Impossible 4;’ and has sequels for ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Cloverfield’ lined up as well.
