Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo who directed ‘Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,’ are in discussions with Disney to helm a musical, Slashfilm.com is reporting. The two, who are next set to start filming the ’21 Jump Street’ movie in early spring 2011, may direct ‘Bob the Musical.’ Lord and Miller are also set to develop the film.

The plot follows a man who can suddenly hear the songs in everyone’s hearts after he suffers a blow to the head. At first, he isn’t happy about that his life has turned into a musical.

Marc Shaiman is currently writing the music and lyrics for ‘Bob the Musical.’ The movie is set to begin filming after Lord and Miller finish ’21 Jump Street.’ However, the musical has seen its share of delays; at first, Mike Bender wrote a draft of the script, and ‘Hairspray’ director Adam Shankman was on board to helm the movie. After the two left, Babloo Mandel and Lowell Ganz re-wrote the script, and ‘Mean Girls’ director Mark Waters was attached to helm. Lord and Miller didn’t come on board until Waters left.
