Academy Award-winning actresses Charlize Theron and Julia Roberts are both in talks to star as the Evil Queen in different adaptations of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,’ Cinemablend.com is reporting. Universal, Relativity Media and Disney are all competing to release their versions, ‘Snow White and The Huntsman,’ ‘The Brothers Grimm: Snow White’ and ‘Snow White and the Seven,’ respectively, in the next year.
To stir up interest, Universal is trying to sign Theron as its Evil Queen alongside Michael Fassbender as the Huntsman. Meanwhile, Relativity is looking at Roberts for its adaptation.
However, Universal may have to put ‘Snow White and The Huntsman,’ which was written by Evan Daughtery and will be directed by Rupert Sanders, on hold. Theron is also currently looking at Clint Eastwood’s upcoming biopic ‘J. Edgar.’ If she signs onto both films, she’ll have a scheduling conflict, and rumors are circulating that she’ll concentrate on ‘J. Edgar’ first.
