Even though the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean hasn’t hit theaters yet, Disney is already gearing up for a Pirates 5 film.

According to CinemaBlend, Disney has already signed off on a deal with Terry Rossio, co-writer on the first three Pirates films as well as On Stranger Tides, to write the script to the fifth installment. However, now word has been said yet on whether Rossio will be back for the fifth and sixth films. Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides director Rob Marshall is also in the works of being signed on to direct the fifth film. There’s also talk of a sixth Pirates movie.

What hasn’t been finalized yet is whether or not main star Johnny Depp will reprise his role as Capt. Jack Sparrow. It was originally thought that after the fourth installment, Depp would walk away from his character, however, now that Pirates 4 is underway, Depp seems to be changing his opinion, according to CinemaBlend.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides continues the story of the eccentric Capt. Jack Sparrow as he goes in search of the Fountain of Youth, only to find that Capt. Barbossa (Geoffery Rush), Capt. Blackbeard (Ian McShane), and Blackbeard’s daughter are after it too. The film also stars Penelope Cruz as Angelica, a woman from Sparrow’s past. The film is expected to hit theaters May 20, 2011.
