While director Darren Aronofsky is busy finishing pre-production on his sequel to ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ he’s reportedly also developing another movie adaptation of a comic book, Slashfilm.com is reporting. In a recent interview with Clothes on Film, Aronofsky, whose recent psychological thriller, ‘Black Swan,’ has become a critical and box-office success, admitted that he’s creating a comic book to base his next script on.
If the reports are true, this will be the second time Aronofsky will have created an original graphic novel for one of his films. In 2005, he released a graphic novel for his movie ‘The Fountain,’ which was met with critical and box-office disappointment.
The news comes several years after Aronofsky admitted that he wanted to create a movie based on Noah’s Ark. While he said in 2008 that he had a script ready and a big name actor attached to the project, he didn’t receive any offers for the project from any studios. He added that he was looking for a writer to create a graphic novel to set up the movie, and reports are speculating this is the project he is currently hinting at.
