While emceeing at the Producers Guild Awards (PGA’s), popular Hollywood director-writer-producer Judd Apatow showed his criticism for comedian Ricky Gervais’ performance as the host at the Golden Globes Awards, according to the Hollywood Reporter. At the PGA’s, which took place in the same Beverly HIlton ballroom as the Golden Globes just a week earlier, Apatow asked the audience “What did you think of (Ricky) Gervais?” before he said “I didn’t like him. I thought he was mean.”
Apatow also took the time to comment on Gervais’ jokes, including the one about ‘Lost’ actor Jorge Garcia’s weight. “Let’s be honest,” Apatow said. “Gervais just lost weight…Did he lose weight just to make fat jokes?” He also commented on Gervais’ questions about why ‘The Tourist’ was nominated. Apatow didn’t like that Gervais joked about a movie he didn’t see, adding “I can’t do a joke about ‘The Invention of Lying’ because I haven’t seen it…None of us have seen it.”
Since the PGA’s weren’t broadcast on TV, Apatow also tweeted his disappointment with Gervais on Twitter. Before his hosting duties, Apatow even asked his fans to submit jokes better than Gervais’.

That's a slam? Jesus, Judd. Might want to try a little harder next time to be funny, kind of like Ricky. It's obvious he was trying to be funny as a host, and it failed tremendously, especially with the “mean” comment. As if Apatow doesn't do crude, or “mean” humor.
