Jane Goldman has taken to Twitter to deny recent rumors that she’s currently writing the sequel to last spring’s hit ‘Kick-Ass,’ Collider.com is reporting. In two tweets, Goldman, who co-wrote the upcoming ‘X-Men’ prequel, ‘First Class,’ said that she doesn’t want to disappoint anyone, but the rumors aren’t true.
While Goldman reunited with her ‘Stardust’ and ‘Kick-Ass’ co-writer Matthew Vaughn, who also directed the movies, to work on ‘X-Men: First Class,’ she is insisting that their next project together won’t be the follow-up to the superhero/action-comedy movie. “Currently writing for 2 other project, then on to lovely Matthew V’s next thing (right now, looks unlikely to be KA2) when X-Men post-prod ends,” Goldman also tweeted.
Speculation has also risen that instead of ‘Kick-Ass 2,’ Vaughn’s next project will be helming the comic book adaptation ‘Superior.’ But the director-writer hasn’t confirmed the reports yet.
