The official poster for “Source Code” has been released, according to ScreenCrave. The poster shows Jake Gyllenhaal’s character running amid photos showing different parts of the character’s past and possibly future, at least, that’s what I gather from it.
It would also appear that this is an enhanced poster. Many magazines and other forms of media are now utilizing special square codes on certain ads and articles that allow the viewer to access videos and other media on their computer. There is a white square at the bottom of the poster that looks like one of those special codes. It also has some instructions under it, further signifying that the square probably leads to some special extra stuff.
The premise of the sci-fi thriller focuses on decorated military captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) who wakes up in an unknown man’s body. He discovers that he’s part of a government mission to find out the identity of the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. He also realizes that he’s part of an experimental government operation called “Source Code”, which allows a person to infiltrate the body of another during the last eight minutes of their life. Colter revisits the events leading up to the train bombing in order to try and stop an even bigger train bombing from occurring.
The film, also starring Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga, is set to be in theaters April 1.
