Javier Bardem has been offered an unspecified role in the upcoming James Bond movie, Comingsoon.net. While not much about the movie has been revealed about the 23rd installment of the popular franchise, including what Bardem’s role will be and even what the title of the movie is, rumors are circulating that Bardem will have a major part in the plot.

Reports are also hinting that Bardem will play the film’s villain. If the speculation is true, he will be the second Academy Award-winning actor to play a rogue character in a Bond film, after Christopher Walken appeared as Max Zorin in 1985’s ‘A View to Kill.’ However, there is no word yet if Bardem will accept the offer, as he is also being considered for Ron Howard’s adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower”.

However, Daniel Craig has been confirmed to portray Bond for the third time in the upcoming film. Judi Dench has also verified that she will be reprising her role of M, and the two will be directed by Same Mendes. The plotline hasn’t been revealed yet, but reports are also stating that the film will pick up soon after the events of the last Bond film, ‘Quantum of Solace.’
