James Franco may feel a lot of things on Oscar night as the co-host, but one thing he doesn’t feel is stress. The actor, who is also up for a Best Actor nomination for “127 Hours”, told Vanity Fair that he would not be fretting over his hosting duties. “If it’s the worst Oscars show ever, who cares? It’s like, it’s fine. It’s one night. It doesn’t matter,” he said.
Even though he stated that if this year’s Oscars urns out to be the worst one ever, he wouldn’t care, that doesn’t mean that he would be just phoning it in. “I’ll try my best,” he said. “They know we’re not Billy Crystal or Chris Rock, that’s not what they’re asking for,” he said when mentioning one of the conversations he had with his co-host, Anne Hathaway.”The show will be designed around what we can do.”
With two young co-hosts presiding over such a prestigious event, it is expected that the awards show will be infused with a bit more of a youthful flair. The Oscars will be held February 27 at 8 p.m. eastern time/5 p.m. pacific time. Check out the Oscars official website here, where you can watch videos of past Academy Awards.
