Rose McGowan has been cast as Dr. Sonny Blake in director Victor Salva’s new horror-thriller film ‘Rosewood Lane.’ The film follows Sonny, who begins working as a radio talk show psychiatrist after moving back into her childhood home. After settling into her old neighborhood, Sonny discovers the local paperboy is really a sociopath that first targeted her alcoholic father, and is now targeting her. The boy begins calling her radio show, reciting nursery rhymes. Sonny must find a way to beat the boy and stay alive.
Salva, who is known for helming the ‘Jeepers Creepers’ franchise, has described ‘Rosewood Lane’ as a “pet project of mine for years now.” He has also said that he has regarded it as one of his most terrifying stories, and “to see it finally come to life is wonderful.”
‘Rosewood Lane’ is being financed by Voltage Pictures. Phillip B. Goldine is on board to produce the film, with Bryan Sexton and Benjamin F. Sacks executive producing. Goldfine has described McGowan as fully embodying “the lead character, and with her strong cult following, I can see audiences as they enjoy watching the horrific experiences her character goes through.”
