Remember a few weeks ago when ShockYa reported that Halle Berry had dropped out of the uber-ensemble film “New Year’s Eve”? Well, news has come out that she has returned to the project.
The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news about the Berry’s return to the film Tuesday evening. According to the site, the actress is set to play a different role in the film.
Berry initially dropped out of the film due to a custody battle over her daughter, allowing for Katharine Heigl to replace her. This week, however, Berry was cleared by a Los Angeles judge to be able to travel with her daughter, and this news has prompted her to return to “New Year’s Eve”.
The role Berry originally had (the one Heigl will now play) was as a jilted girlfriend of a rocker, played by Jon Bon Jovi. Even though she is set to play another role in the film, no specifics have yet been given as to what role that will be.
“New Year’s Eve” chronicles the lives of several New Yorkers during New Year’s Eve as they navigate love and interpersonal relationships. The film, featuring a bevy of stars including Ryan Seacrest, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Josh Duhamel, Robert de Niro, Sofia Vergara, Hilary Swank, Zac Efron, Abigail Breslin, Jessica Biel, and plenty of others, is set to be released December 9, 2011.
