We just need to wait a few months more for Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” before it finally hits theaters. We’ve had a taste of the Norse god of thunder with a couple of clips, but now we get a better look at the Asgard world through Thor’s eyes in this second trailer. Instead of skimming over what’s going on like in the first official trailer, we get a better grasp of the mythical world of Asgard along with the deadly sibling rivalry between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and his brother Loki (Tom Hiddelston).
The story centers on Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior who’s sent down to Earth as punishment for reigniting a reckless war. But after a dangerous villain from his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth, the hammer-wielding Thor will learn what it takes to be a true hero in order to save mankind.
“Thor” boasts a large cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Stevenson, Jamie Alexander, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddelston and Kat Dennings. Although that’s an impressive acting cast, one of the biggest things about Thor is the thick Shakespearian tone. It’ll be interesting to see how audiences take the heavy fantasy-based comic character.
The baby blue-eyed hammer-wielding Norse god finally descends into theaters everywhere, in 2D and 3D, on May 6th.
