Matt Damon is just one of those actors who rarely ever gives himself a break from work. He’s been appearing in one project after another for years and is just another person who loves the job he has. How could he not? There are many who would be happy to roll out of bed only to be in front of the camera fake-shooting at some actors as part of their character’s supposed duty to themselves or to some other force in the wings.
During an interview where Matt Damon was chattering away about how absurd Steven Soderbergh’s soon-to-be early retirement from filmmaking is, he spilled a little about a much-known upcoming project. That piece happens to be the biopic “Liberace,” Soderbergh’s next project in which Damon will be co-starring alongside Michael Douglas.
“This ‘Liberace’ script is just wonderful. Michael (Douglas) is going to be just phenomenal in that part. We’re shooting that in 2012. I just did ‘Contagion’ with Steven last December.” That changes the information on the release date for “Liberace” which was originally going to be thrown out in theaters next year.
Steven Soderbergh’s next film “Contagion” focuses on a threat posed by a deadly disease where an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC have to deal with the outbreak. Matt Damon is part of the cast that includes Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow. “Contagion” spreads into theaters everywhere on October 21st.

Haiku poem to Lee (Liberace)
Shirtless Matt–adore,
Whirl your bike helmet-for-bull,
Twirl your red silk shirt,
Pool-side by moonlight, ballet,
Lee, key-dance Malaguena !
