Veteran television actor Don Johnson may be returning to the small screen this fall, as he has been cast in the lead role in the new NBC pilot ‘A Mann’s World,’ www.entertainmentweekly.com is reporting. The drama follows a 50-something Beverly Hills hairdresser and salon owner, played by Johnson, who is being compared to Warren Beatty’s character in ‘Shampoo.’ He’s struggling to stay young and relevant, and is struggling to expand his business.

‘A Mann’s World’ is being produced by Warner Bros., and was created by ‘Sex and the City’ writer Michael Patrick King. The series also stars ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Taylor Kinney, who has been cast as a young stylist working in the salon.

The show marks Johnson’s return to television after making a name for himself on the hit 1980s series ‘Miami Vice.’ He was also a regular on the 2005 series ‘Just Legal,’ and had a minor role in the HBO series ‘Eastbound and Down’ last year.
