After months of promoting two of its biggest movies to come out this year, Dimension Films has announced the official launch for both, ‘Scream 4’ and ‘Apollo 18.’ The full ‘Scream 4’ website can be accessed at www.scream-4.com, and is built around the victims and suspects of the third sequel in the hit series.
As in the three previous ‘Scream’ movies, lead character Sydney Prescott’s friends are always the suspects and victims. Playing on that theme, visitors to the website can pretend they’re Sydney and her friends through a Facebook connect. ‘Scream 4’ opens April 15, 2011.
The new official website for ‘Apollo 18’ can be viewed at www.apollo18movie.net/cosmonauts. The premise of the science fiction-horror movie, which is set to be released on April 22, 2011, is that new footage of a secret moon landing in 1973 has been discovered.
The trailer for the movie, which can be found on the website, has already been viewed over 4.3 million times, according to Insidemovies.ew.com. Bob Weinstein, the head of Dimension Films, contributed the public’s interest in ‘Apollo 18’ to people’s desire to know what secrets are being held from them. He even insists that the footage isn’t fake, saying “We didn’t shoot anything. We found it.”
‘Apollo 18’ is the first Dimension Films movie to have an almost exclusive social media and Internet marketing campaign. The studio’s marketing executive, Bladimiar Norman, said the campaign is aimed to have fun with the audience.
