Cameron Diaz has always been one of those actresses that has won the audiences over, for the most part, no matter what film she’s participated in for years. There may not have been too much positive press on “Knight & Day,” but she may easily break out of that very brief 2010 funk with her latest film “Bad Teacher.” The Jake Kasdan-directed film stars Diaz along with a cast that includes Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel, Lucy Punch and John Michael Higgins.
“Bad Teacher” centers on a foul-mouthed, ruthless, inappropriate teacher named Elizabeth (Diaz). She drinks, gets high and she can’t wait to marry her meal ticket and get out of her bogus day job. When she’s dumped by her fiancĂ©, she sets her plan in motion to win over a rich, handsome substitute (Timberlake) – competing with an overly energetic colleague, Amy (Punch). When Elizabeth also finds herself fighting off the advances of a sarcastic, irreverent gym teacher (Segel), the consequences of her wild and outrageous schemes give her students, her co-workers and even herself an education like no other.
Most of the cast attached to this production is pretty busy with upcoming projects. Justin Timberlake wrapped up filming the Andrew Niccol film “Now” with Amanda Seyfried, due out in theaters on October 28th. Jason Segel is starring in the highly anticipated movie “The Muppets,” set to be released on November 23rd.
