‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ director David Slade had been picked by 20th Century Fox to helm its reboot of the Marvel comic Daredevil, www.comingsoon.net is reporting. Slade has yet to sign an official deal with Fox, but reports are saying that he’s very close to signing one.
This will be the studio’s second adaptation of Daredevil. The first, which starred Ben Affleck in the title role and was directed by Mark Steven Johnson, was released to mix reviews inn 2003. However, the new reboot won’t be connected to Johnson’s version, or its 2005 spin-off, ‘Elecktra,’ starring Affleck’s wife, Jennifer Garner.
Fox needs to be actively producing a Daredevil movie in order to keep the rights. If the movie is scrapped, the rights will go back to Marvel Studios. Fox hopes that it can strike a deal with Slade, who has also directed ‘Hard Candy’ and ’30 Days of Night,’ in order to prevent that.

I hope FOX loses the rights so Daredevil can finally be made the way it should be.
