The trailer for the film adaptation of “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night” has been released on YouTube.

The trailer seems to have the same zany, slightly indie, fun style that “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” has, without all of the special effects, of course. (It’s worth mentioning that Brandon Routh seems to be getting serious comic-book cred: he also starred in “Scott Pilgrim” and, of course played Superman.) It’s also slightly macabre, so if you’re into that, this movie might be for you.

The film stars Routh (“Superman Returns”, “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”) as the title character, a private detective who specializes in the world of the undead. Dylan Dog must find an artifact before it causes a war between his werewolf, zombie, and vampire clients. The film is based on the popular comic book of the same name by Tiziano Sclavi.

Also starring Sam Huntington, Anita Briem, Peter Stormare and Taye Diggs, “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night” is set for release on April 29, 2011. The film is directed by Kevin Munroe (“TMNT”) and written by writing partners Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer(“Conan the Barbarian” 2011).

You can find out more about the film on its official Facebook and Youtube
pages.
