‘The Lovely Bones’ actress Saoirse Ronan has been cast as the title role in Relativity’s upcoming film ‘The Brothers Grimm: Snow White,’ Deadline.com is reporting. The movie, which is being helmed by ‘The Cell’ director Tarsem Singh and will be an adult telling of the fairy tale, is currently set for a June 29, 2012 release. The news comes after ‘The Social Network’s Armie Hammer closed a deal to play Prince Andrew Alcott, and Julia Roberts was cast as the evil queen.
Pre-production has already begun on ‘The Brothers Grimm: Snow White,’ and principal photography is expected to begin in May. The movie, which was written by Melissa Wallack and Jason Keller, is expected to be modernized with comedy and action. It will follow the queen as she kills Snow White’s father so that she can destroy the kingdom. Snow White will call upon seven dwarfs to help her reclaim what’s rightfully hers.
