‘The Blind Side’ actress Lily Collins has been cast as Snow White in director Tarsem Singh’s upcoming Relativity Media 3D movie based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, variety.com is reporting. The movie, which is still untitled, is expected to follow Snow White as she teams up with the seven dwarves to reclaim her kingdom from the evil queen.
Julia Roberts was the first to be cast in the film, which was written by Melissa Wallack and Jason Keller, as the queen. It was then announced last month that Armie Hammer was chosen to play Prince Andrew Alcott, who is presumed to be Snow White’s love interest.
The movie, which is being produced by Ryan Kavanaugh, Bernie Goldman and Brett Ratner, is expected to begin production next month. It will be released on June 29, 2012. The casting comes as the movie’s main competition, Universal’s ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ lost Viggo Mortensen in its lead male role. However, Charlize Theron is still on board to play the queen, with Kristen Stewart on board to portray Snow White.
