We are not big baseball fans over here, but we do enjoy listening to the songs played throughout the games. Yes, we know this is an extremely girly comment, but oh, well.

The baseball season has just begun and Billy Joel is giving you a look at the last days of the historic Shea Stadium with the documentary film, “The Last Play At Shea.” Fans can look back at the iconic performances that occurred at the stadium, as well as past interviews with MLB players.

The NY Mets stadium hosted The Beatles in the first concert at the major stadium. The last concert was that of Billy Joel. In between these legendary shows is a considerable amount of classic Mets footage, dating back to the team’s first day at Shea. Fans can see interviews with Tom Seaver, Keith Hernandez, Darryl Strawberry and Ron Darling. You can also see interviews with the legendary Paul McCartney, Tony Bennet and Steven Tyler. This film is ideal for the avid baseball fan and those who go to games purely to crack the peanuts and pop in the cracker jacks.

“The Last Play At Shea” is narrated by NY native Alec Baldwin. So, we can say a little bit of “30 Rock” is incorporated into the film as well.

This exciting piece of Mets and music footage could be yours now by purchasing the documentary DVD and/ or “Billy Joel Live At Shea Stadium” concert, the full length DVD and CD now. We advise you to take out the “or” of that latter sentence and just throw in the towel and buy both historic pieces. When have we ever guided you wrong?
