Joshua Jackson is currently in talks to star in the upcoming biopic ‘Lay The Favorite,’ variety.com is reporting. While there’s no word yet what role he will play, the announcement comes after his critically acclaimed but ratings-challenged show ‘Fringe’ was renewed for a fourth season.
‘Lay The Favorite’ is about successful Las Vegas gambler Beth Raymer. After working as a cocktail waitress, Beth makes a fortune betting on sports, but questions her lifestyle after meeting the man of her dreams.
‘The Town’ star Rebecca Hall and Bruce Willis have already signed on to appear in ‘Lay The Favorite,’ which is being helmed by ‘The Queen’ director Stephen Frears. D.V. DeVincentis is currently writing the script, and the biopic is expected to begin production later this year. He will also produce the film with Randall Emmett, Anthony Bregman and Paul Trijbits.
