With the various and unheard of instruments indie bands are using today, it would be nice if one or two them would fill in us music fans on how they work. So thank you, Dengue Fever, for beginning the trend.
The LA based band is letting you in on what a Mastadong is. We dare you take a wild guess because we are pretty sure your response will be far off. The Mastadong is half electric guitar, half chaipai dong veng, which is a traditional, long-necked Cambodian guitar. Still don’t get what it is? Well, we don’t either. So, check out a short video, where guitarist, Zac Holtzman, explains the Mastadong.
Also, check out Dengue Fever’s official website for the latest information on their spring 2011 tour, which kicked off last week in Los Angeles.
