With many distinctions evolving from that pretty face, Joss Stone is every bit of an accomplished R&B singer. At the ripe age of 24, her world wide record sales have reached over the 11 million mark. Stone has also won a Grammy award and is a 5 time Grammy nominee with a slew of Brit awards. This British bombshell has now embarked on ownership of a record label, “Stone’d Records“. Ok, Stone’d Records at this time has only two artist, herself and a cinematic rock band from Bristol, England named “Yes Sir Boss”. But, this lovely lady will be changing that soon enough, with all of the success coming her way.
Having ultimate control over projects is an important feat to any artist. As co-writer and co-producer of her new album “LP1”, Stone can express her freedom. Co-founder of the Eurythmics and creditable producer Dave Stewart trail blazed the album “LP1”.
The “LP1” album was recorded in 6 days at a studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Smokey Robinson quoted once, saying that the singer Joss, resembles a mixture of Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin. In essence calling the singer Stone, “Aretha Joplin”. That sound is blended with-in her new album “LP1”, being released July 26,2011, by Stone’d Records in consort with Surfdog Records.
