Jolie Hollands “Pint of Blood” album is due to be released June 28, 2011. The folk singers unbridled sounds ring home bits of Cowboy junkies, sliced with Bob Dylan vibes. Her engaging voice draws you closer as the music consumes your audio palate. The album features songs like “All Those Girls”, “Remember” and smash “Gold & Yellow”. The 10 song album was recorded with co producer Shahzad Ismaily in her home.
It does not seem that long ago since the folk band “The Be Good Tanyas” have been on a hiatus. But, ever since the break Jolie has been breaking out on her own. Things are looking really sharp for the folk goddess as she embarks on her fifth solo album.
Anti Records has got to be clicking their heels. To have an artist with Jolie’s wide range and who is on a roll, simply don’t get any better. With all the fast paced self righteous sounds and lackadaisical lyrics being shared these days. For those who are down right tired of these struggling times we live in. It is refreshing to hear some “solid ground”, some music thats got nothing to do with the superficial and monetary gains.
