The only thing that seemed to be missing from the 2010 summer blockbuster hit, “The Expendables”, was 90s action star, Jean-Claude Van Damme. Why wasn’t “the muscles from Brussels” in a movie full of action superstars from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. It seemed to be a huge glaring mistake in casting.

Well, screenwriter Sheldon Lettich (“Bloodsport” and “Rambo III”) and long time friend of Van Damme told JCVD fan site, VanDammeFan.net, that the star of “Timecop” will be indeed cast in the sequel, “The Expendables 2”. But here’s the good news, not only will Jean-Claude Van Damme be in the movie, he will play one of the principle villains. I think that’s something we can all enjoy!

Of course, this is only a rumor and has yet to be confirmed by Van Damme or Sylvester Stallone but it seems be where it’s heading towards. Imagine Van Damme and Stallone staring each other down and squaring off against each other. With the success of “Fast Five” and “The Expendables”, it looks like big action movies are making a huge comeback.
