The Cannes Film Festival is now in full swing after opening today! And with news pouring out from thousands of media outlets already, the latest buzz surrounds Shutter Island star Leonardo DiCaprio who will be going home happy. Finally sealing a deal, after years of waiting, Red Granite Pictures has acquired DiCaprio’s long time baby – ‘Wolf of Wall Street’.
The deal places DiCaprio in the role of real like stockbroker, Jordan Belfort, whose life on Wall Street was made for the movies! Belfort, who once said that Michael Douglas’ character Gordon Gekko was his role model, makes the Wall Street star look like a saint! Now in prison, Belfort hit the wall running when he was convicted of stock fraud, laundering money, as well as some hard partying, sinking a yacht and a helicopter, his pension for prostitutes and more I can’t mention due to our PG 13 rating! Perfect for the role of the Wolf on Wall Street, DiCaprio should play Belfort like a pro!
The movie, which has yet to find its director, will be produced by EMJAG Productions as well as Leonardo’s Appain Way. Martin Scorsese or Ridley Scott could be picking up the gig according to several rumors. We’ll keep you posted!
