We have some sleek new music for you. By sleek, we mean a track that would be played in a film when the popular and rebellious kids are walking down the hallway. Oddly enough, the cool kids, also known as Adelitas Way, will release their sophomore album, “Home School Valedictorian”, on June 7th via Virgin Records. The album’s title might not fit in exactly with our description of the band, but it is within a similar realm, so it suffices.
The Las Vegas rock band consists of vocalist Rick DeJesus, guitarist Keith Wallen, bassist Derek Johnston and drummer Trevor Stafford. “Home School Valedictorian” features the first single, “Sick,” which can be heard in its entirety through the band’s official lyric video and on iTunes. It may seem unjust to call a rock track smooth, but if you dig past the adjective, you’ll see the flattery within the comment. DeJesus’ vocals coast alongside the instrumentals without the use of any harsh or jarring sounds. Some rock bands think the more abrasive vocally and instrumentally the better, but we disagree. We prefer the musical way of Adelitas Way.
Can’t grasp that taste of a rock and gentle mixture still? Well, Adelitas Way has provided you with a YouTube video, where you can select a specific song from the upcoming album and get a sample of the tune. Check out the album sampler and we doubt you will disagree with us that the more slicked back the track is, the more authentic the rock band is.
