Veteran actor Alec Baldwin has rejoined the ranks of director Adam Shankman’s New Line venture ‘Rock of Ages’ . For the unknown, the movie follows a small “town girl who arrives in Hollywood at the height of the 1980’s rock music scene.” After previously leaving the musical for vague reasons (scheduling conflicts and a reported health issue), Baldwin is back on in the role of Dennis Dupre after arriving in Miami, Florida for the cast reading.
Baldwin’s on screen character is the owner of the Bourbon Room in the Rock of Ages, so get ready to see the dark haired star belt out a few tunes! Also on board the production is Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta Jones, Mary J. Blige and more. The news of Alec’s return came by way of Twitter when director Shankman shared the news that Baldwin was back on!
Baldwin is also on board several other projects that should be filming soon. Not only is he voicing the role of Santa Claus in the 2012 production of Rise of the Guardians, Baldwin is also busy with the flick Bop Decameron, the movie Lucky Them, Hick and the forthcoming film AmeriQua.
Rock of Ages is scheduled for a June 1st release next year.
