Disney XD has decided to order a pilot of “Gulliver Quinn”, a show starring and produced by “Napoleon Dynamite” star Jon Heder, according to Movieline.

The premise of the pilot is about a man named Gulliver (Heder), who enrolls in the seventh grade after he and his family return from a 15-year research expedition concerning a rare tortoise. The pilot is written by “Malcom in the Middle” writer Dan Kopelman and will be directed by Rob Schrab. Heder and Kopelman are acting as executive producers along with “Lizzie McGwire” producer Stan Rogow.

“It’s an absolute coup for Disney XD to be working with Jon,” said Adam Bonnett, Senior Vice President of Original Programming, Disney Channels. “…[H]e is a tremendous comedic talent and Dan Kopelman’s brilliant script is the perfect project to showcase his quirky sense of humor.”

“Gulliver Quinn” will be launched in 2012 on Disney XD, a station that is aiming to target boys 6-14. What do you think about Heder coming to television?
