The month of June is a beautiful time of year, after all it is the official start of summer. This usually means that television networks are reinventing or introducing new shows to their lineups.
During the month of June, ‘Sound Check’ will be presented on the Documentary Channel. Music documentaries will air every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening featuring legendary high profile musicians. There will be a total of 29 films with 10 of them being new premieres. Thursday showings of the series will air @ 5:00 pm EST while Friday and Saturday showings air 8:00 pm EST.
Music documentaries give fans an inside look, a glimpse into the musician. An up close and personal feel…, far more then what concerts offer, although great involvements in their own rights. The documentary platform incorporates behind- the- scences of an artists life, sharing with us their drives, experiences and influences.
Artist like ‘The Beastie Boys’, ‘The Ramones’, ‘John Lee Hooker’ and ‘The Drive By Truckers, are just a few of the big names willing to share their lives on ‘SoundCheck’. Making interviewed appearances on various artist are stars such as ‘B.B. King’, ‘Eric Clapton’, ‘Bonnie Raitt’, ‘Carlos Santana’ and more.
A little taste of what’s to come on ‘Sound Check’ is the Beastie Boys documentary, ‘Awesome: I… Shot That!’. The Beastie Boys gave fifty cameras to fans in hopes of capturing the essence of their October 2004 Madison Square Garden concert. That documentary became a cult sensation. It will air on the ‘Sound Check’ series, June 24 2011 8:00 pm EST.
