Another round of news has been issued regrading the very long awaited Arrested Development movie! This time around Jason Bateman, who credits the series as his stepping stone for a Hollywood comeback, has stated that creator Mitchell Hurwitz is working on a script, “and he wants to start shooting at some point this year!” And while Bateman seems pretty confident, his on screen crazy family doesn’t! Actor David Cross, aka Tobias Funke, killed the dream for fans everywhere by telling the EW – “its just not going to happen.”
“[The show] also happened to be the job I’m most proud of, so of course I would want to jump back in there again,” Bateman went on to say.
Cross says that too much time has elapsed, and his co-stars have moved on and are busy with their current projects. Michael Cera also jumped on the hopeless bandwagon, but it does sound like he would be willing to reunite back on the set of Arrested Development with a firm and loving nudge! Cera, who made a name for himself after playing the role of George Michael in the show, fears that fans have such high expectations that could ultimately lead to shear disappointment.
