HBO has taken on a new drama entitled ‘Dirty’ from Shameless writer Danny Brocklehurst. The forthcoming comedy follows a Chicago cop whose moral compass appears to be shot! With “illicit affairs, on and off the job,” Brocklehurst’s lead character should be interesting to see, especially after witnessing his work with the above mentioned 2004’s Shameless, and Talk To Me, the show about Mitch Moore, Radio DJ and playboy. Provided he casts the right leading man for the job! Brocklehurst will not only write the script, but will take on producing duties as well.
Energetic about the 30 minute series, Brocklehurst called it “a dream come true to work with HBO. People think the British make good television, but the Brits look at HBO and Showtime and say – what they’re doing is amazing.” Casting on the HBO series should be kicking off soon.
Brocklehurst’s credits over the years also include the BBC series Clocking Off, the TV show Sorted, Linda Green, Exile, The Street and more. Recently the writer worked with Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes on a new series that unfortunately was not picked up by the ABC Network.
