Taylor Swift will join The Black Eyed Peas at their “Concert 4 NYC” in Central Park on June 9. The four-time Grammy winner is among several other musical guests, including Natasha Bedingfield, LL Cool J, MC Hammer, Debbie Harry and Carole King, who will help support the Robin Hood Foundation and its mission to fight poverty in New York City.
Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas said the group is “thrilled to have (Taylor) on board to benefit two very important causes. Not only will she be an amazing addition to our lineup, she is an incredible inspiration to people of all ages and her music gives a voice to those who feel left behind.”
“Concert 4 NYC” will raise funds and awareness for the Robin Hood Foundation, a charity that supports New York City food pantries, homeless shelters and health clinics. It also provides work-force training for New York City residents. In conjunction with The Black Eyed Peas, Robin Hood will also fund three Peapod Academies in the city within the next few years. The schools will support disadvantaged youth through music and artistic education.
Several actors, including Whoppi Goldberg, Zach Braff and Jimmy Smits, will also make appearances at “Concert 4 NY,” which is being sponsored by Chase. Tickets for the concert may still be purchased at Eventbrite.
