One father out there is definitely going to be a happy man this Sunday, June 19th, because he will receive some music from the legendary artist, Dean Martin. We asked you Shockya readers to tell us why your father is the greatest in order to have the opportunity to win ‘Dino: The Essential Dean Martin’, which includes a two CD set with a new track, and a copy of ‘Essential Love Songs’. This competition provided you with a present on Father’s Day without having to unzip your wallet and a nice card to have to go with your gift, whether you won or not. Just a quick reminder, but this contest also gave you another way to bond with your father. Your dad can discuss the music of his past and you can gain some knowledge on an iconic artist. The deal was a pretty solid exchange, right?
Well, one of you walked away a winner and we have to admit we are quite jealous. Congratulations RM for your heartwarming words and for giving us tips for our own Father’s Day cards. We are only kidding with that last thought, but all jokes aside, this post was exactly what we were looking for, short, sweet and right to the point. RM, it sounds like you have an amazing father and you appreciate all he has done. We hope you have a great Father’s Day and your father enjoys these two Dean Martin CDs as well as your touching entry post.
Check out the winning post below and remember how important it is for your parents to know just how special they are each and every day!

My father isn’t a perfect man, but he is a perfect dad. He has always told me that I am capable of anything, and his ever present support has allowed me to accomplish things in life that I could never dream possible. Always ready with a kind word or stern discipline if needed, his guidance and discipline has helped me grow into adulthood. I know no other father out there who was at every game cheering loudly come rain or shine, who took the time out to explain decisions in detail, and who pushed their child to be the best that they could be without being overbearing.
Through sickness and in health, through good times and bad, he has been our families rock, weathering storm and sunshine with equal aplomb. Happy Father’s Day Dad, thank you for everything.
