It’s hard to believe that the original PC version of ‘Minecraft’ has hit a whopping 2.5 million sold copies worldwide, even though the game hasn’t even be official released and is still is in beta testing. ‘Minecraft’ creator Markus “Notch” Persson posted a not surprising bit of news on his Twitter feed.
The announcement comes right after very big events at E3, like the announcement for an exclusive Xbox 360 version of the game featuring Kinect, and a Pocket Edition for Xperia PLAY. Notch also said there will be a major update for Minecraft called the adventure update.
Here’s what Notch said about the update on his blog.
We are working on Minecraft Beta 1.7, which I’m referring to as the “adventure update”. We’re keeping the details secret so people can get surprises. The idea with this update is to flesh out the game a bit, making it reward exploration and combat more. Assuming we like them in play testing, pistons are coming in 1.7.
