It is officially that time of the week, where we introduce you to a new band. The Los Angeles-based rock band, Abused Romance, has kicked off their spring U.S tour in support of their Freeway Record debut, ‘Shine’, with fellow rockers, Egypt Central. You can check out the tour dates over at the band’s official website.
Produced Justin Gray (Joss Stone, INXS) and mixed by Randy Staub (Metallica, U2), ‘Shine’ is now available for free download by clicking here. Well isn’t that a nice perk from Abused Romance. The group keeps those bonuses coming by also digitally releasing an expanded version of the album called Shine-Special Addition on June 14th, which will include 9 live tracks form their explosive show on April 3rd at the Viper Room in LA.
Since you probably can’t pinpoint Abused Romance’s sound just yet, we suggest you start with their new single, “Overcome,” which has hit number 41 at Active Rock. The quartet, consisting of vocalist and guitarist, Meir Yaniv, guitarist, Amit Ofir, bassist, Aetam Jakob and drummer, Roy Chen, teamed with director Robby Starbuck on the tune’s video. “Overcome” incorporates just about every rock element from intricate instrumental beats to harshly sung vocals to strong melody driven moments and finally to slower paced vocals, which displays the group’s singing chops. Put those traits alongside the music video, where Meir is battling an evil version of himself in a haunting setting, and you have a breakthrough and fearless band that deserves to be heard.
Abused Romance, you have recruited us as fans and we look forward to listening and seeing your many rocker traits unfold!
