We are pretty upset we will be missing our favorite rockers on the annual Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. Unfortunately we will be attending the show in July and the quartet will be kicking their leg of the festival off on August 26th in Camden, NJ, alongside Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace, Seether, Bullet For My Valentine and more. It should come as no surprise, but we are babbling away about Escape The Fate.
The sadness thickens since the group just revealed their video for the single, “Gorgeous Nightmare” and it only further sparked our craving to see Escape The Fate even more. Directed by Robby Starbuck, the music video shows the band at a mysterious mansion, where they are forced to face real life incarnations of the Seven Deadly Sins. We have got wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy and gluttony all wrapped up into a single video; talk about a plentiful array of emotions bursting out from the seams. When you top all of that off with the hauntingly edgy vibe of Escape The Fate, the “Gorgeous Nightmare” video has an indescribable power that makes the freak-show mansion seem appealing. As with us, you might find yourselves wishing to be in Escape The Fate’s position and having some daredevil fun.
We are not alone in our “Gorgeous Nightmare” captivation. In the 6 days leading up to the June 15th video premiere, Escape The Fate launched the Seven Deadly Sins campaign that led fans on a hunt to unearth “Gorgeous Nightmare” video stills across six websites, with each image depicting a different sin. During the promotion, Escape The Fate reached two million fans on Facebook, accumulated more than 50,000 views of the “Gorgeous Nightmare” trailer and had over 7,000 visitors daily on the band’s official site.
The good news for Escape The Fate just keeps on coming with the band’s nomination for the “Best Album” Kerrang! Award 2011. The group’s self-titled album debuted at #4 on the Billboard Rock album chart, #3 on the Billboard Alternative chart and #1 on the Billboard Tastemakers chart.
We congratulate you, Escape The Fate. The rock world has been waiting for a fierce group like you.
