Deadline is reporting that “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara has bowed out of the Lee Daniels-directed drama “The Paperboy”. The reasoning for Vergara cancelling her appearance in the film has to deal with what 70 per cent of cancellations are caused by–conflicting schedules.
According to the site, the beginning of filming “The Paperboy” conflicted with the beginning of filming for “Modern Family”. According to an insider, she was left with no choice. “‘Modern Family’ is her first priority, so once she was made aware of the change in schedule, she had no choice but to pull.”
However, Vergara will be seen in “The Three Stooges”, a film adaption of the television series directed by the Farrelly Brothers. She was able to complete her role for that film last month, just in time for “Modern Family.”
“The Paperboy”, starring Matthew McConaughey, Tobey Maguire, and Zac Efron, is based on a Pete Dexter novel about a newspaper reporter who returns to his home in Florida to investigate a case involving a death-row inmate who may have been wrongly imprisoned.
