Director Zach Snyder (Sucker Punch) is putting some finishing touches on his all star cast line up for Man of Steel. This time around news comes that Synder is looking to actress Julia Ormond to play Superman’s biological mother, Lara. Nothing is concrete as of yet, but Ormond is a great choice for the role of the kryptonian! She rocked in Legends of the Fall, opposite Brad Pitt and Aidan Quinn, back in the 90’s, and has since gone on to star in episodes of Law and Order, Nurse Jackie and the TV movie The Wronged Man.
Making her way back to the big screen, Julia Ormond is currently wrapping up on the set of My Week with Marylin as the character Vivien Leigh, which leaves her an open schedule to fill the role of Lara Lor-Van. If she does seal a deal to appear in the role, she would join the already cast Russell Crowe who just signed up to play the stern biological father of Superman, Jor-El.
While all of this casting news is awesome, and I love Snyder’s choices so far, just a little info on what we can expect to see plot wise would be great! Hopefully, soon we’ll hear something. In the meantime drop us a line and tell us what you think about Julia Ormond’s possible role as Lara. Is she a good fit?
