Glee’s Chord Overstreet won’t be returning for season 3 of the Fox hit series this coming September. Gleeks everywhere are sure to be bummed out, and have also been left with no real answers behind the dismissal of Overstreet, who played transfer student Sam Evans, a regular cast member. Other than the show’s creator Ryan Murphy making the announcement weeks ago that Glee Club can’t stay in high school forever, additional details surrounding his character haven’t been revealed. Only news that Overstreet wasn’t picked up for a third season. The star also tweeted the sad news to Glee followers:
“Well its been a good yr too bad its over. Time for summer and starting fresh.”
The good news is that TV Line reportedly revealed that Overstreet could possibly be back as a guest star in the series. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens! Last time we saw Chord in the role of Sam, his character’s family was living out of a hotel after his dad lost his job, and he may be secretly dating Mercedes Jones! Glee show runners will most likely want to closed out that storyline.
Alright Gleeks! Give us your thoughts. Do you see Chord coming back? What’s the deal behind his departure from the show? Will it leave a massive hole in the New Directions?
