Harry Potter actress Emma Watson shed a few tears the other day at the official premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2”. Can you blame her? But that’s not all she’ll be shedding. Watson will be showing fans a new side of herself, leaving her squeaky clean, PG rated, Hermione Granger persona behind when she shows up in director Stephen Chbosky’s “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower”. Emma’s role as Sam, something of a wild child, requires her to play out a scene in lingerie. Recently speaking to WENN about her role, here’s what Watson had to say:
“There’s a scene where I have to mimic Susan Sarandon in the Rocky Horror Picture Show and I’m standing in a corset in front of all these extras trying to do this dance and I felt ridiculous. It’s funny coming out of the Potter world and constantly doing things that are new.”
This should be interesting to see. With fans used to Watson in the world of Potter for the last ten years shocking headlines should be on the way. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, that also stars Paul Rudd and Logan Lerman, is due in theaters sometime in 2012, and follows a “freshman named Charlie who is taken on the wings by his friends Sam and Patrick, who welcome him to the world of sex, drugs and complicated relationships.”
