“Bieber Fever” might finally be cured with the latest teen sensation, Greyson Chance, or at least drop back down to the healthy, 98.6 degrees. We first noticed Chance on YouTube singing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” and then again performing his version on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show.” With just one verse played and sung, we were wholeheartedly impressed with the singer and pianist, but hearing cover songs often on YouTube, we wanted more from the teenager than just a reworked Gaga song.
Chance did just what we asked for and more with his newest single, “Unfriend You.” The tune is off of his debut album, ‘Hold On Til The Night’, which is set for release on August 2nd. His latest tune showcases his wide range of vocals, which are well beyond his years, but the track’s video reminds us that Chance is only a 13-year-old. We commend him for not trying to portray an image that will coincide with his mature vocals. The video shows Chance overcoming heartbreak by letting loose with his other teenage pals. The teen sensation sings about a love he lost, but through his innocent demeanor, we come away from the video thinking that Chance had a young crush similar to ones we had when we were little. You don’t think he was madly in love, which is exactly what we were hoping him to do with his latest video. How many 13-year-olds out there know the ins and outs of a love relationship? Well done Chance, your video was believable and charmingly cute, at the same time.
As if he couldn’t win us over even more, Chance also released a behind-the-scene’s clip of him sharing his excitement about filming the video. Ah, we just love the joyful expressions of young talents, who are unharmed by the negativity that surrounds the entertainment industry. You are adorable Greyson Chance and truly gifted. So we urge you to stay clear of the Lohan path.
