Twentieth Century Fox’s “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” has released a new viral video in which the L.A. 405 highway is blocked off for some reason…that reason being an attack by apes starting at Mullholland Drive. The attack is presumably led by Caesar. You can watch the video below for yourself.

In terms of viral videos, this one is pretty good at whetting the appetite for the film and can give the viewer a sense of how the real-world and the CGI apes will interact together.

“Rise of the Planet of the Apes” is a remake/reboot of the 1960s-1970s “Planet of the Apes” film series. This film is most notably linked to “Conquest of the Planet of the Apes” in which Caesar, played by Roddy McDowall, led his chained ape brethren against their corrupted human owners. “Rise”‘s Caesar, played by Andy Serkis, seems to share a disoriented, yet militant outlook on life and his place in it. “Rise” also stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, David Oyelowo, and Tom Felton.

I’ll leave this to you: what do you think of the footage and how have you viewed the viral footage for “Rise” released by Twentieth Century Fox thus far? Do you think this film will stand up to the ’70s version? Sound off in the comments section below.
