The upcoming horror thriller ‘The Perfect House’ is set to premiere on October 1, 2011 on FlickLaunch, the first movie distribution platform built on Facebook for independent filmmakers. The Kris Hulbert-directed film will be available as a 7-day rent on its Facebook fan page.
‘The Perfect House’ stars Monique Parent, Felissa Rose, Will Robertson, Andrea Vahl, Chris Raab, Jonathan Tiersten and John Philbin. It follows newlyweds Mike and Marisol, played by Robertson and Vahl, as they tour the house of their dreams with a perky real estate agent, portrayed by Parent. The couple soon finds out that the house may have a foreboding past, which is revealed through three terrifying, original stories that detail the previous tenants’ grim circumstances.
FlickLaunch will enable independent filmmakers, like Hulbert, the chance to market their movies to a global audience through Facebook without the additional costs of advertising. Viewers will pay $5 to watch movies in their entirety. Hulbet, who also wrote and produced ‘The Perfect House,’ said “Partnering with FlickLaunch to be the first new released film on Facebook is something we are extremely excited and proud of.”
Of the application’s premiere, Craig Tanner, the Co-Founder and CEO of FlickLaunch, said “We see a great opportunity to help these filmmakers get their films seen by offering this powerful transactional VOD distribution platform.” He added FlickLaunch will help independent filmmakers secure distribution from major distributors and/or a larger marketing budget.
