Recently, ShockYa reported on the official poster from this year’s soon-to-be Oscar contender “The Whistleblower.” Well, today, Samuel Goldwyn Films has released some clips from the film today.
The clip, “Not Safe,” shows Weisz and David Strathairn as their characters Kathyrn Bolkovac and Peter Ward who are trying to hash out how Bolkovac can stick a case of corruption to the higher-ups she works for. From the film, you can see that it’s filmed in the “real-cam” type of fashion in order to give the film more realism, especially since it’s based on a real story. There are also some new stills from the film as well, which can be viewed below the post.
Here’s the official synopsis of the film:
Inspired by actual events, Kathyrn (Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz) is an American police officer who takes a job working as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia. Her expectations of helping to rebuild a devastated country are dashed when she uncovers a dangerous reality of corruption, cover-up and intrigue amid a world of private contractors and multinational diplomatic doubletalk. Directed by first time filmmaker Larysa Kondracki, the film also stars Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave, Monica Bellucci and Academy Award nominee David Strathairn.
“The Whistleblower” will play in select theaters August 5. You can learn more about the film from their official site and Facebook page. Give your opinions in the comments section below.
