‘Another Earth’ actress Brit Marling is said to be in negotiations to appear in Robert Redford’s new project ‘The Company You Keep’. In talks, the Sundance starlet could take the leading female role, appearing alongside the already slated Shia LaBeouf. Details surrounding Marling’s possible role hasn’t been revealed in Robert Redford’s ‘The Company You Keep’, but we do know that the director’s second project follows the chase between a former Weather Underground member (to be played by Redford) on the run for the last thirty years, and a determined journalist, to be portrayed by LaBeouf, who outs the fugitive. Actor Nick Nolte is also part of the cast line up.
Currently Marling is attached to appear in Zal Batmanglij’s thriller ‘The East’, with offers (according to Cinema Blend) from director Christopher McQuarrie, for his film ‘One Shot’, and Steven Soderbergh’s stripper flick, ‘Magic Mike’. Looks like the actress will have her pick.
If she does board Redford’s picture, Brit will be part of the production that will be produced by both the The Horse Whisperer actor and Bill Holderman “through their Wildwood Enterprises banner”, with the help of Voltage Pictures. Screen writer Lem Dobbs is adapting ‘The Company You Keep’ from the novel written by Neil Gordon.
